Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at ISU, has specialized in the development of precast structural systems suitable for accelerated construction in non-seismic and seismic regions. He has worked with bridge industries in this area for nearly 20 years.
He has played important roles in the PREcast Seismic Structural Systems (PRESSS) program that introduced the use of unbounded post-tensioned concept to the industry in seismic area, the design and construction of precast bridge bents for California Department of Transportation in the mid-1990s, and design of several ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) members that can promote accelerated construction. He currently leads several ABC type research projects with funding exceeding $1.2M. Sritharan has published numerous papers related ABC and has authored or co-authored more than 150 journal conference proceedings papers.
