Featured Presentation: ODOT Combines Multiple ABC Methods for Maximum Value at I-5 over 26th Ave. (35 minutes)

Description (under 150 words):
ODOT and David Evans and Associated made use of multiple Accelerated Bridge Construction methods for the design and replacement of the I-5 bridge over 26th Avenue.  These methods include:  prefabricated bridge elements; lateral slide; mechanically-stabilized, low-density cellular concrete walls; micropile foundations; and a weekend full-closure of I-5 to maximize the value to all users and stakeholders.  The compounding innovative methods used for the bridge replacement project resulted in reduced construction duration by 6 months, reduced major impacts to the travelling public from 2 years to a single weekend, reduced construction costs by $5.5 million dollars and improved safety for both construction personnel and the traveling public.
