    Description:
Many steel culverts installed during the 1950s and 1960s are reaching the end of their design life. Replacing these poor culverts in many cases disrupts traffic and reduces mobility.  Some of the existing solutions for repair and strengthening demand adding large thicknesses of material that could reduce hydraulic capacity of culverts.  Sprayable Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) offers an excellent solution for corrosion protection and/or strengthening existing poor culverts steel, or concrete.  IBT/ABC-UTC has developed a sprayable UHPC that is ready for field application.  Ongoing research is aimed at further development of sprayable UHPC for application to steel or concrete culverts.  A startup company has been established to provide the needed service to agencies.  This webinar will present the overview of sprayable UHPC technology and research studies being carried out for its application to steel or concrete culverts.
