Q: Who should attend the conference?

A: Bridge design engineers; consultants; fabricators; erectors; precasters; construction professionals; maintenance engineers; transportation officials; policy makers; marketing professionals; International, U.S. federal, U.S. state, and U.S. local agencies; city, county, and regional officials; industry suppliers; academicians; and bridge professionals with any aspect of bridge design, construction, or maintenance.

Q: Will this be a face-to-face conference?

A: No, this a fully virtual conference.

Q: When and where is going to be the next in person conference?

A: It is going to be December 7-9, 2022, in Miami, FL.

Q: Is there going to be a virtual reception?

A: Yes, on Wednesday Dec. 8, 2021, there will be a virtual reception.

SESSIONS

Q: Will the conference contain parallel sessions?

A: No, agenda will include one presentation at a time.

Q: Will the conference contain keynote talks?

A: Yes, more than a dozen keynote talks will be included as part of the program.

Q: Will speakers present live?

A: No, all presentation will be pre-recorded; however, all speakers will be available for live Q and A.

WORKSHOPS

Q: Will there be any workshops?

Q: Do I have to register for the workshops?

A: Yes, when registering for the conference, you will be given the option to register for the workshops.

Q: Do I have to pay for the workshops?

A: No, workshops are included in the registration fee.

CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS

Q: Do we get continuing education hours for attending the conference?

A: Yes, attendees will receive certificate of attendance for the duration of a participating session. The conference organizer (Florida International University) is responsible only for issuing the certificates of attendance.

Q: Do the certificates automatically, count as PDHs?

A: No, it will be the attendee’s responsibility to present this certificate to his/her Board of Professional Engineers for use in fulfilling continuing education requirements. FIU is an official approved sponsor of continuing education for professional engineers in Florida and New York State.

NETWORKING/SOCIAL EVENTS

Q: Is there going to be a virtual reception?

A: Yes, on Wednesday Dec. 8th, 2021 there will be an online reception.

Q: Are there any networking opportunities?

A: Yes, there will be several different options for networking.

EXHIBITS

Q: What are the exhibit hours?

A: The exhibit hall will be open from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. It is up to the exhibitors when they would like to open their booths.

Q: What is the cost of an exhibit booth?

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A: No refunds after November 1, 2021. To request a refund, you must email Mrs. Mina Saremi at msare001@fiu.edu to process your request. All refunds are subject to $100 administration processing fee.
