Tenn. DOT using accelerated bridge construction on I-24 bridges in Nashville

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) plans to use accelerated bridge construction (ABC) techniques for replacing Interstate 24 bridges in downtown Nashville. More than 148,000 vehicles travel on this section of I-24 daily. … The department says the work will require complete closure of I-24 from the I-40 split east of downtown Nashville to the I-65 split north of downtown Nashville for at least four weekends starting this fall. The construction work is expected to be complete by June 2018.
