About the Conference

Starting in 2022, we will return to having in person conferences in Miami, Florida.  The 2022 Accelerated Bridge Construction Conference will be a premier bridge engineering conference that is co-sponsored by 30 State DOTs, the Federal Highway Administration, and other bridge-related organizations. The 2022 conference will be held on December 7-9, 2022 in Miami, Florida. Several ABC workshops will be held on Wednesday, December 7, one day prior to the conference.

Previous Conferences

The 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2019 ABC Conferences, each were attended by more than 700 bridge professionals, including more than 150 state DOT bridge engineers and professionals. How to Submit Abstract

You are invited to submit an abstract of a formal paper to be considered for presentation at the conference. Abstracts are welcomed from bridge design engineers; consultants; fabricators; erectors; precasters; construction professionals; maintenance engineers; transportation officials; policy makers; marketing professionals; federal, state, and local agencies; city, county, and regional officials; industry suppliers; academicians; and bridge professionals with any aspect of bridge design, construction, or maintenance.

Those interested in presenting at the conference should submit a one-page abstract by 11:59 pm EDT, February 25, 2021. Individuals will be notified of their abstract acceptance by March 11, 2022. Abstracts must be submitted online at https://abc-utc.fiu.edu/conference/abstract-submission/.

The authors of abstracts selected for presentation will have the option of submitting an extended abstract (minimum of 3 pages) or a full paper (maximum of 10 pages) for inclusion in the conference proceeding.

Who Should Attend the Conference?

Bridge design engineers; consultants; fabricators; erectors; precasters; construction professionals; maintenance engineers; transportation officials; policy makers; marketing professionals; federal, state, and local agencies; city, county, and regional officials; industry suppliers; academicians; and bridge professionals with any aspect of bridge design, construction, or maintenance.

The focus of the conference will be on Accelerated Bridge Construction, including prefabricated bridge elements, systems, and technologies; policies; contracting methods; and marketing strategies that will facilitate accelerated construction of bridges using various materials and techniques. ABC projects successfully completed in the U.S. and overseas will be presented.
