Every Day Counts (EDC) – “EDC is designed to focus on a finite set of initiatives. Teams from FHWA work with state, local, and industry partners to deploy the initiatives and develop performance measures to gauge their success.” More information …

FHWA Incentive-Based Funding – Three incentive-based funding mechanisms are available for owner agencies who are looking to implement innovations such as prefabricated bridge elements and systems and other ABC related strategies into their program/projects.

  • Accelerated Innovation Deployment (AID) grant: Under this program, approximately $15 million in incentive funds is being issued for innovation deployment. More information …
  • State Transportation Innovation Council (STIC): This incentive program was announced September 2013. It offers technical assistance and funds — up to $100,000 per STIC per year — to support the costs of standardizing innovative practices in a state transportation agency or other public sector STIC stakeholder. State DOTs are encouraged to work with local FHWA Division Offices regarding the STIC program. More information …
