The high-amplitude tests will be conducted on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 and will be webcast starting at 11 am Pacific.

Test of two-column pier model on shake table as part of the UNR ABC-UTC "Development and Seismic Evaluation of Pier Systems with Pocket Connections and Hollow PT/UHPC Column" research project.  The key features of the bent are:

1. The bent incorporates precast square column-cap beam pocket connections.
2. The columns are detailed with two-way rebar hinges at the base, all cast as part of the precast columns.
3. The hinges are connected to the footing using round pocket connections.
4. Engineered cementitious composite (ECC) is used in the top plastic hinge zone of one column and UHPC is used in the other.
