Information
This four-day camp is an opportunity for parents and their children to learn about bridge engineering. During the four-day camp, participants will gather at Florida International University’s Engineering Campus to learn about bridge engineering. The students and their parents will learn about:
- Different types of bridges and how they carry forces
- Prefabricated elements and systems and how they can be used to accelerate construction
- 3D printing and its future in bridge engineering
Other activities included in the camp:
- Multiple field trips (FIU campus, 3D printing lab, and the world-class laboratory facilities at FIU)
- Hands-on activities (balsa wood bridge project, 3D printing bridges, paper bridge, K’NexTM)
