2020 Parent/Child Bridge Engineering Summer Camp

This four-day camp is an opportunity for parents and their children to learn about bridge engineering. During the four-day camp, participants will gather at Florida International University’s Engineering Campus to learn about bridge engineering. The students and their parents will learn about:

  • Different types of bridges and how they carry forces
  • Prefabricated elements and systems and how they can be used to accelerate construction
  • 3D printing and its future in bridge engineering

Other activities included in the camp:

  • Multiple field trips (FIU campus, 3D printing lab, and the world-class laboratory facilities at FIU)
  • Hands-on activities (balsa wood bridge project, 3D printing bridges, paper bridge, K’NexTM)

  • Time: 8:30am to 3:00pm
  • Breakfast, lunch, and transportation provided
