The ABC-UTC continues to pursue workforce development activities with national impact. As part of these activities, ISU has partnered with a local elementary school to develop customizable less plans for K-5 students. These lesson plans are designed to take less than 45 minutes per day, four days a week for four weeks and take students from a basic understanding of what is engineering to specifics about bridge engineering and ABC.

Two workshops were held in summer 2019 in Reno, NV and Seattle, WA.

Participants in these two-day workshops were introduced to the Engineering First! curriculum, guided through the activities and were assisted in customizing the activities for their classrooms.

The dates for the workshop were:

• August 1-2, 2019 in Reno (NV) at the University of Nevada, Reno
• August 8-9, 2019 in Seattle (WA) at the University of Washington
