Description: The use of full-depth precast concrete (FDPC) deck panels has traditionally been thought to both accelerate construction and improve the long-term durability performance of bridge decks. The primary goal of this project was to investigate the actual in-service performance of bridges with FDPC deck panels compared to those with conventional cast-in-place (CIP) concrete. A survey was conducted to better understand owners’ perception of FDPC deck panels and create a database for preliminary data analysis of bridges with FDPC deck panels, with additional information from the ABC Project Database. In addition, the LTBP InfoBridge was mined for available data and inspection information to determine the deterioration rate and estimated service life for bridges with FDPC deck panels and similar bridges with CIP decks. Results and discussions of the findings are presented in this research seminar.
